Ella is a small town in the Badulla District of Uva Province in Sri Lanka, situated at an elevation of 1041 meters above sea level. It is approximately 200 kilometers east of Colombo. Ella is surrounded by hills that consist of cloud forests and tea plantations. Its climate is much cooler than its surroundings due to the higher altitude. The area contains a variety of flora and fauna and thus shows a rich biodiversity
