Sinharaja Rain Forest

This evergreen rain forest is a UNESCO World Heritage site that is rich in fauna & flora and is an ecological treasure trove placing it among the top biodiversity hotspots in the world and became Sri Lanka’s first natural site to be added to UNESCO World Heritage list. It is also home to the elusive leopard. There are two entry points to the forest namely Deniyaya Mederipitiya to the East or Kudawa to the North. The two main nature trails of Sinharaja Rain Forest lead to the peak of Moulawella and the peak of Sinhagala. Both these nature trails begin at Kudawa Conservation Centre (KCC) and are equally enjoyable and enlightening with streams of crystal-clear cool water.
