Trip Itinerary

DAY 1: AIRPORT/NEGOMBO
A warm welcome awaits you at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake. Your guide will greet & garland you before taking you to your hotel in Negombo.
Check in and relax at the hotel.
DAY 2: DAMBULLA/SIGIRIYA
Morning after breakfast, leave for Dambulla/ Sigiriya. This is the hub of Cultural Triangle. On the way visit the Millennium Elephant Foundation which was founded in 1999. Unlike the bareback riding, this will give you a more interactive and close up experience. The elephants get the opportunity to walk at a leisurely pace, being free to explore and forage, while you casually wander behind the elephant enjoying watching their every move and admiring the sheer size of these beautiful animals. If you wish you could feed & help bath them too. Afternoon climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. One of the most extraordinary artistic complexes of its time (477 – 498 AD), this site was declared as an UNESCO heritage site in 1982. Continue the journey to Sigiriya. Check-in to the hotel and relax at the hotel.
DAY 3: DAMBULLA/SIGIRIYA
Morning after breakfast take a cycle tour around the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Afternoon set on an exclusive private jeep safari at Minneriya National Park.
DAY 4: KANDY
Morning leave for Kandy. En route visit the Spice Garden in Matale. Spices are essential element of Sri Lankan cuisine and also in ayurvedic treatments. A short guided tour to the spice cultivation sites to see, feel and taste these spices in their natural surroundings, will be followed by a typical Sri Lankan cooking demonstration. Enjoy a typical Sri Lankan lunch at the Spice Gardens. Upon arrival check-in and relax at the hotel. A little later in the evening visit the Temple of Tooth, Located in Kandy, , the stunning 17th-century (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is believed to house the left upper canine tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. This precious relic attracts white-clad pilgrims, bearing lotus blossoms and frangipani, every day. Hereafter you will have the opportunity to witness a typical Kandyan cultural performance.
DAY 5: HILL COUNTRY
Morning leave for Hill Country by train A train journey is truly a rare experience and is an adventure itself! The trains in Sri Lanka are considered to be one of the most comfortable modes of travel by the locals. The Hill Country is exceptionally beautiful, with crystal clear waterfalls and tea plantations dotted throughout. The temperature in this region stays cool all year round, in an atmosphere of early morning Spring. Upon arrival visit a tea plantation and factory. Here you will enjoy the absolute tea experience. If you are interested, the tea factory is the best place to purchase good quality tea.
DAY 6: HORTON PLAINS /BUTTALA
Early morning proceeds to Horton Plains and enjoy a trek at Horton Plains National Park and witness the awe-inspiring view from World’s End. Horton Plains became a Nature Reserve in 1969 and upgraded as a National Park in 1988 due to its unique watershed and bio-diversity values. Its flora has high level of endemism. The hills are covered with diverse wet low evergreen forest with even large trees grown flattened to the ground on the higher windswept slopes. Horton Plains harbours 52 species of resident birds and 11 species of migrant birds. More then 2,000 to 3,000 Sambhur, Bear Monkey, Leopard, Barking Deer, Giant Squirrel, Fishing Cat, Wild Boar and Hares roam in the forests and grasslands but only seldom they could be seen other than the Sambhur in the evening and morning. Two escarpments- “World’s End” and “Little World’s End” falling from the Horton Plains 1000 feet and 3000 feet respectively, to the land below and the Baker’s Falls are places you should visit. Thereafter continue the journey to Buttala. Upon arrival check-in and relax at the hotel.
DAY 7: BUTTALA
Morning safari at Yala National Park. After the safari. Cycling through the village and vegetable cultivations. Enjoy river bath. BBQ Dinner by the river and overnight.

DAY 8: BENTOTA
Breakfast at the hotel and thereafter proceed to Bentota. Full day at leisure at beach.
DAY 9: BENTOTA
Full day at leisure at beach.
DAY 10: DEPARTURE
Morning after breakfast transfer to the Airport for Departure Flight
