Day 1 | AIRPORT to SIGIRIYA| N/A
Travel Time – Approx. 3 1/2hrs – 145 kms, A warm welcome awaits you at the arrival lounge of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake. Your personal chauffeur guide will give you a brief introduction and commence the trip to Sigiriya. You will be greeted with a hot cup of herbal drink called Koththamalli (Coriander) at the hotel lounge. This is a common drink among the locals and is known to boost your immunity. Following a seamless check – in, relax. Afternoon kick back and settle into the amazing new surroundings. Overnight – SigiriyaJungles Hotel ( Deluxe Room)
Day 2 | SIGIRIYA| Breakfast
After breakfast climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Lion’s Rock), one of the most extraordinary artistic complexes of its time (477 – 498 AD). Declared as an UNESCO heritage site in 1982, this magnificent citadel allures artistic and architectural curiosity from around the globe. Afternoon enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Medieval Capital City of Polonnaruwa (By Cycle). This was declared as an UNESCO heritage site in 1982. After the demise of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa became the middle historic capital of Sri Lanka (1017– 1235 AD). Overnight – SigiriyaJungles Hotel ( Deluxe Room)
Day 3 | SIGIRIYA| Breakfast
By 08:00AM today, leave on bicycles (or walking) through Augandawa Village, visit the local temple and evoke blessings from the priest. Visit a villager’s house and enjoy a herbal drink (with Sri Lankan short eats) or a king coconut. Ride through the village passing paddy fields and Chena cultivations. Afternoon around 2.45PM set on an exclusively private jeep safari at the Minneriya National Park to witness the unique phenomenon of elephant gathering. During the dry season, from June to September, hundreds of elephants gather around the Minneriya Tank for water. Such a large number of elephants could not be sighted at one place, anywhere else in the world! *Depending on the elephant migration patterns the safari will be done in Minneriy or Kaudulla or Eco Park* Today is your last nights in Sigiriya, enjoy a pre dinner Arrack cocktail (02 shots per person) and a special three spice chicken curry with steamed rice at the garden restaurant. DAY 4 | SIGIRIYA - KANDY- NUWARAELIYA| Breakfast
Travel Time – Approx. 5 hrs / 165 kms Morning visit the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple. Also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, it is a World Heritage Site and the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Thereafter leave for Kandy, the Hill Capital (1514 – 1815 AD). Originally known as Senkadagala, the city eventually came to know as Kandy. Kandy was declared as an UNESCO heritage site in 1988. The style and character of the Sri Lankan civilization at the time is well articulated in the heart of the city itself. On arrival to Kandy, visit the Temple of Tooth. This sacred temple houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Thereafter proceed to NUWARAELIYA . Arrive at the hotel, Check – In & Relax Overnight – Anilana Craigbank ( Standard Room)
DAY 5 | NUWARAELIYA| Breakfast
After breakfast visit a tea plantation and factory. Here you will enjoy the absolute tea experience, taking you to the moment the young tea leaves are plucked from the plantation to being processed in the factory to make a steamy cup of tea. If you are interested, the tea factory is the best place to purchase good quality tea. Overnight – Anilana Craigbank (Standard Room)
DAY 6 | NUWARAELIYA - WADDUWA| Breakfast
Travel Time – Approx. 5 hrs / 190 kms Today you will proceed to Wadduwa. Located on the south-western coast of the island, this paradise beach is nestled among coconut trees, golden sands and clear blue skies. Arrive, check in & relax by the beach/pool Overnight – Villa Wadduwa (Standard Room)
DAY 7 | WADDUWA| Breakfast
Full day leisure or explore the surroundings on your own. Overnight – Villa Wadduwa (Standard Room)
Day 8 | WADDUWA - AIRPORT| Breakfast
Travel Time – Approx. 2 hrs /85 km After breakfast proceed to Airport. En route set on a sightseeing tour of Colombo, the executive and judicial capital of Sri Lanka. (Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, a Colombo suburb, is the legislative capital.) Situated on the west coast of the island, just south of the Kelani River, Colombo is a principal port of the Indian Ocean. It has one of the largest artificial harbours in the world and handles the majority of Sri Lanka’s foreign trade. Thereafter proceed to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for your departure flight back home. Good Bye!! Safe flight !
