DAY 2 | COLOMBO to SIGIRIYA
Travel Time – Approx. 3 Hrs | 159 kms. After breakfast proceed to Sigiriya.
En-route, visit Dambulla Cave Temple, the
magnificent rock temple in Dambulla, a world
heritage site built in the first century BC. It is
recognized to be the largest cave sanctuary in the
world with its 2000 m2 of walls and ceilings painted
with more than 150 Buddha images, the largest of
which is engraved in the rock and reaches 14 meters.

DAY 3 | SIGIRIYA
Travel Time – Approx. 3 hrs | 149 kms
After breakfast leave on bicycles through Augandawa Village,
visit the local temple and evoke blessings from the priest. Visit
a villager’s house and enjoy a warm herbal drink (with Sri
Lankan short eats) or a king coconut. Ride through the village
passing paddy fields and Chena cultivations.
Return to the hotel.
Optional – In the afternoon, set on an exclusive jeep safari at
the Minneriya National Park to witness the unique
phenomenon of elephant gathering. During the dry season,
from June to September, hundreds of elephants gather
around the Minneriya Tank for water. Such a large number of
elephants could not be sighted in one place, anywhere else in
the world! *Depending on the elephant migration patterns, the
safari will be done in Minneriy or Kaudualla or Eco Park.

DAY 4 | SIGIRIYA
After early breakfast climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Lion’s
Rock), one of the most extraordinary artistic complexes of its time
(477–498 AD). This magnificent citadel, declared as a UNESCO
heritage site in 1982, allures artistic and architectural curiosity
from around the globe.
Thereafter join a cooking demonstration to prepare a few spicy Sri
Lankan dishes. Enjoy a Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch at
Sigiriyajungles Hotel.
Optional – Thereafter, proceed to Polonnaruwa and set on a
sightseeing tour of Polonnaruwa (UNESCO) by Bicucle. – the
Medieval Kingdom from the 11th to the 13th century. Ethnic
harmony prevailed between the Sinhalese and the Tamils during
this period. Buddhist and Hindu Temples located in the same
complex and many other ruins symbolizes this fact. The Palaces,
Huge granite sculptures and the massive tanks and complex
irrigation systems built by the Great Kings conveys the extent of
development that existed in this middle history period.

DAY 5 | SIGIRIYA to KANDY
Travel Time – Approx. 2 1/2 hrs | 90 kms
After breakfast proceed to Kandy.
En route, visit spice Garden in Matale.
Arrive, check into hotel.
Afternoon stroll around Kandy Lake will entice you to spend
some time here. Embark on a sightseeing tour in the city of
Kandy by TukTuk.
Thereafter, enjoy a typical Sri Lankan cultural performance.
Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
DAY 6 | KANDY to NUWARA ELIYA
Travel Time – Approx. 2 1/2 hrs | 77 kms
Breakfast at the hotel leave for Nuwara Eliya. you could either travel this
distance by vehicle or train.
A train journey is truly a rare experience and i
an adventure itself! Apart from the breathtaking sceneries of the tea
country and picturesque waterfalls, it is a chance for you to mingle with
the local people. (On availability)
Arrive, Check-in & Relax.
Afternoon visit a tea plantation and a factory. Here you will enjoy the
absolute tea experience, taking you from the moment the young tea
leaves are plucked from the plantation to being processed in the factory
to make a steamy cup of tea. If you are interested, the tea factory is the
best place to purchase good quality tea.
Afternoon proceed to Nuwara Eliya and sightseeing tour of Nuwara
Eliya.

DAY 7 | NUWARA ELIYA - YALA / THISSAMAHARAMAYA

Park. The Yala National Park is situated in the
South East of Sri Lanka and offers wildlife

DAY 8 | THISSAMAHARAMAYA to Airport
